Service Pricing Method: Price by Estimated Resources

Video Coming Soon

To edit the pricing method of the service, you will need to navigate to the Settings menu, over to the Items column, and then down to the Service page. There, you should be able to double click on a service that you would like to edit. Once the service pop up comes up, you will be able to navigate down to the Pricing Method drop down to select your preferred pricing method (see this article if you need help choosing a method).

If you select Price by Estimated Resources, it means that you want the price to calculate based off of the price of the inventory, equipment and employee labor / service charge attached to the service, and then NOT UPDATE when the actual values of the services are entered.

One  important item of note is that when you choose the Price by Estimated Resources, pricing method, you must then choose between our two calculation methods: Time and Material by Service Charge and Time and Material by Resource. The Price by Estimated Resources label tells the system when to stop calculating, but we need to tell it HOW we want it to calculate.

If you select Time & Material by Resources, it means that you want the price to calculate based off of the price of the inventory, equipment and employees attached to the service. The formula used to dictate the price for the service is calculated using the following equation: (Est Hours * Employ. Charge) + (Equipment Hours * Equipment Charge) + (Inventory Consumption * Inventory Charge).

If you select Time & Material by Service Charge, it means that you want the price to calculate based off of the price of the inventory and equipment and the service charge per hour for the employees attached to the service. The formula used to dictate the price for the service is calculated using the following equation: (Est Hours * Service Charge) + (Equipment Hours * Equipment Charge) + (Inventory Consumption * Inventory Charge).
