Switching to Device Email Method or Batch Provider in the Mobile Estimator App
Google/Gmail is strengthening its security measures by discontinuing the traditional username/password SMTP login method for third-party applications, such as Arborgold, starting March 14th. If you have integrated your Gmail account via SMTP in your Mobile Estimator to send emails, this functionality will cease to work. To address this, we are currently developing OAuth integration for Arborgold to ensure smooth email operations. In the meantime, to maintain uninterrupted email service through the Arborgold Mobile Estimator app, you can choose between two alternative options for sending emails:

Device Email Method: Opens your device’s default mail app to send emails.

Company-Owned Batch Provider: Uses your company’s SendGrid or Elastic Email integration to send emails directly from your Mobile Estimator app.
This guide will walk you through the steps to configure your preferred email method.
Option 1: Switch to Device Email Method
The Device Email Method allows you to use your device’s default mail app (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) to send emails from the Arborgold Mobile Estimator.
Steps to Enable Device Email Method:

Open the Arborgold Mobile Estimator app on your device.

Navigate to Settings >> Email.

Select Device Email Method as your email sending option.

Save your changes.



How It Works:

When you attempt to send an email from the Mobile Estimator, your device’s default mail app will open automatically.

Compose and send the email as you normally would through your mail app.
What You Need to Know:
- Merge Fields may not function correctly as they can break when the mail app attempts to translate and convert the data. This is expected behavior.
- The emails sent through the mail app will appear in the Sent Folder of the respective email account, rather than in the Communication Outbox within Arborgold.
Option 2: Switch to Batch Provider
If your company has its own SendGrid or Elastic Email account integrated with Arborgold, you can use it to send emails directly from the Mobile Estimator.
Steps to Enable Batch Provider Account:

Open the Arborgold Mobile Estimator app on your device.

Navigate to Settings >> Email Settings.

Select Batch Provider as your email sending option.

Save your changes.
How It Works:

Emails will be sent directly from your SendGrid or Elastic Email account that is setup at the Company setting level.

No additional apps or steps are required—compose and send emails seamlessly within the Mobile Estimator.
What You Need to Know:

Merge Fields will function correctly.

Emails sent through the mail app will appear in the Communication Outbox within Arborgold.
