Learn how to set up your Ongoing & Ongoing Indefinite Services
Let's take a look at how to set up an Ongoing and Ongoing Indefinite Service.
There are a couple of different snow plowing services. One is set up as a contract, one is set up as a per push.
The contract is set up as an Ongoing Indefinite. We can open that up, we can take a look right there, show Ongoing Indefinite, and we'll go to the next one which is Ongoing.
The difference between these two is you don't know the number of visits. For this Ongoing Indefinite Service, you know you're going to be servicing this property, but you don't know how many times you're going to have to do it. The other one for Ongoing, you know you're going to be servicing this property AND you know how many times you're going to have to do it.
For the examples that I have here, with the Per Push Service, I'm doing a total of 12 pushes/visits for this service. So it's going to be an Ongoing Service type. The other one is a contract which will be unlimited visits for the term of the contract. So this is Ongoing Indefinite.
Scheduling and Invoicing Ongoing Vs Ongoing Indefinite
Understand the concept of ongoing services. These services are based on the quantity used. The quantity represents the number of times you can schedule the service.
Schedule your ongoing service. For instance, if you want to schedule a snow management service at a certain snowfall, use the crew routes feature, the work scheduler, or the Quick Scheduler clock icon.
Monitor the quantity. After setting the price, the
quantity decreases to 7.
Understand the quantity depletion. The quantity decreases until it reaches zero. Once it's zero, the service won't be ready to be scheduled.
Explore ongoing indefinite service.
schedule with the either Crew Routes, Work Scheduler, or Quick Scheduler (clock icon shown)
Notice how it pulls in the price just like a regular ongoing service. However, the
quantity doesn't decrease. This means it's always ready to be scheduled.
Once you schedule either ongoing or ongoing indefinite proceed to mark the services complete (either using the mobile crew app or in the work scheduler) and invoice as normal (either by opening the job or using the batch invoice screen).
