Jobs, Services & Scheduling đŒ
- AJTA-22080 â Unable to Clock Out of a Service With No Resources: Fixed an issue where users could not clock out of a service that had no resources assigned. Users can now clock out of any service regardless of whether resources are attached.
- AJTA-22428 â Multiple Clicks on Clock In Button Cause an Error: Fixed an issue where clicking the Clock In button multiple times on the Time tab triggered an error message. The button now prevents duplicate clicks.
- AJTA-22445 â Job Costing Shows Default Record Instead of Actual Crew: Fixed an issue where crews were unable to clock out or mark jobs complete, and the resulting Job Costing/Timesheet entries showed as a "Default Record" instead of the actual crew.
đ Improvements:
- AJTA-22553 â Selected Employee Automatically Unselected on Time Screen: Fixed an issue where a selected employee was automatically unselected on the Time screen, preventing users from clocking in. Employee selection now remains until manually changed.
- AJTA-22570 â Add Service Button Disabled and Entered Price Resets to $0: Fixed an issue in the Add Service flow where the Add button became disabled during price calculation and a manually entered price reset to $0 after changing quantity or hours.
- AJTA-22575 â Service Card Collapses Automatically During Refresh: Fixed an issue where an expanded service card on the Work Order tab automatically collapsed every few seconds due to a periodic screen refresh.
- AJTA-22599 â Work Order Notes Not Displayed on Service Card; Incorrect Tech Notes Permission Warning: Fixed an issue where Work Order Notes entered in Service Details did not appear on the Service Card, and Tech Notes incorrectly displayed a permission warning even without a Tech Notes permission restriction.
- AJTA-22650 â Add/Update Task Doesn't Return to Task Listing: Fixed an issue where adding or updating a task did not automatically return the user to the Task Listing screen.
- AJTA-22546 â Material Mixture Panel Collapses Automatically: Fixed an issue where the Material Mixture details panel automatically collapsed a few seconds after being expanded. The panel now stays open until manually collapsed.
How Offline Mode Works
Three connection states
- Connected: Full signal â everything works normally and updates happen immediately.
- Weak signal: A slow or spotty connection is treated the same as no connection for viewing and entering new information, but anything youâve already saved will still quietly finish sending to the server in the background.
- No signal: The app switches fully into offline mode â you can still view previously loaded information and save new work, which is held on your device until youâre reconnected.
The app "remembers" your day
- Every time you log in with a connection, the app automatically downloads todayâs jobs and yesterdayâs jobs â along with services, customer info, weather, and tasks â so theyâre available even if you lose signal later.
- This downloaded information is kept on your device for about 2 days, then itâs cleared out to keep the app running smoothly.
- If a screen was never opened while you had a connection, it will appear empty until youâre back online.
An offline banner keeps you informed
- A banner appears at the top of the app whenever youâre offline, when the app is syncing, when itâs downloading new information, or when you have unsent changes waiting to go out.
- Once everything has been sent to the server, the banner disappears.
What You Can Do Without a Connection
Jobs & Work Orders
- View your job list and job details: Any job youâve already opened while connected â including its directions and site notes â stays available offline. Only jobs marked To Do or In Progress are downloaded for offline use, so completed or older jobs wonât show up in your offline list.
- Edit job notes, proposal notes, and site notes: Changes save on your device and send automatically once youâre reconnected. If a jobâs map location was never loaded while you had signal, the map itself may not display offline â the text directions and notes will still work fine.
- Clock in and out: Works for employees and for equipment/inventory-only clock-outs. Your time is saved and sent once youâre back online â it may take a moment after reconnecting for the clock-in to appear in Review Time.
- Add services and resources: You can add a service and add employees, materials, or equipment to a job while offline. Automatic price calculation is turned off offline, so youâll need to enter the price yourself â it will still save and sync correctly.
- Edit service notes: Description, work order, and tech notes can all be edited offline.
Review Time & Completing Services
- View tracked time and service details from your last sync.
- Mark all services complete from the Track tab.
- Send a service completion email using the in-app email composer â it queues and sends once youâre reconnected. Sending through your phoneâs own mail app is not supported offline.
- Complete a Work Order: You can complete a work order and move into Review Time while offline. It will show the most recently loaded information, which may be a little out of date until youâre back online.
Time Clock
- View and edit employee clock in/out times for the crew.
Tasks
- Create, edit, and mark tasks as finished â fully supported offline, including editing a task you just created before itâs even synced.
Dashboard Resources
- Add, view, and delete employees on the crew, materials, equipment, and employees not on services â fully supported offline.
Weather Tracking
- View, create, and update weather tracks while offline. A newly created entry shows as âpendingâ until it syncs.
Customers
- View customer details that were already loaded while online.
What Requires a Connection
A few features always need you to be online, either because they involve live calculations, sensitive information, or communication that canât be safely delayed:
- Editing job tags or customer tags
- Customer Files, Invoices, and Future Jobs tabs
- Sending a customer email
- Saving or distributing time, editing or deleting tracked time, or changing tracking type in Review Time
- Completing selected services from the Services tab (Complete All Services from the Track tab does work offline)
- Editing, adding, or removing an employee on a track
- Uploading photos or files
- Logging in for the first time on a device that has never connected before
- Any payment or invoicing action
If you try one of these while offline, the app will let you know itâs an online-only feature rather than saving something incorrectly.
Tips for Working in Low-Signal Areas
- Open your jobs while you still have signal. Pulling up a job, its site tab, and its services before you head out ensures theyâre ready if you lose connection later.
- Donât force-close the app to âfixâ something. Your unsent changes are saved on the device and survive the app closing â closing it isnât necessary and wonât speed anything up.
- Keep an eye on the banner. If itâs still showing after youâre back in a signal area, give it a few moments to finish syncing before assuming something is wrong.
- Donât log out with unsent changes unless you mean to. If you have items waiting to sync, the app will ask you to confirm before logging out, since logging out clears everything that hasnât been sent yet.
- Feel free to do several things offline in a row. Actions sync in the same order you performed them, so steps that depend on each other â like adding an employee to a service you just created â still line up correctly once youâre back online.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to install a new app to get offline mode?
No â offline mode is built into the same Crew app you already use. Just make sure you're updated to the latest version (2.6.0) so you have full offline support.
What happens to my changes if I log out while offline?
Logging out clears all downloaded information and anything waiting to sync on that device. If you have unsent changes, the app will warn you and ask you to confirm before logging out â make sure youâre back online and synced first if you donât want to lose anything.
Why is a screen empty when I go offline?
The app can only show information it already downloaded while you had a connection. If you never opened that job, customer, or screen while online, it wonât have anything saved to show you yet.
Why didnât the weather log show up right after I clocked in offline?
Weather tracking is created automatically once your clock-in reaches the server â since that canât happen until youâre back online, the weather entry appears shortly after your clock-in finishes syncing, not the moment you tap Clock In.
I added a service and forgot to sync â will it just get lost?
No. Anything you save offline is stored on your device, not just in memory, so it will still be there even if the app is closed or the phone restarts. It sends automatically the next time you have a connection.
What if my change never seems to sync?
The app automatically retries sending a change a few times. If it consistently fails, itâs removed from the queue and the app lets you know so you can redo it â it wonât keep failing silently in the background forever.
Can I use the app if Iâve never logged in before and have no signal?
No â the very first login on a device requires a connection. After that first successful login, the app can work offline going forward.
Does a weak or spotty connection count as âonlineâ?
Not quite. A weak connection is treated the same as no connection for viewing new information and entering data, but anything already saved and waiting to sync will still make its way to the server in the background as long as thereâs some connection.
Why do I have to type in a price manually when I add a service offline?
Automatic price calculation relies on a live connection, so itâs turned off offline to avoid showing you an incorrect number. Just enter the price yourself â it will save and sync normally.
I added something offline, then deleted it before I reconnected â do I need to do anything else?
No. If you delete something you added while still offline and it hasnât synced yet, the app simply cancels it locally â nothing is ever sent to the server, so thereâs nothing left over to clean up.
Why didnât my job list update when I reopened the app a few minutes later?
To avoid unnecessary downloads, the app wonât re-check for new jobs if it already refreshed within the last hour on the same day. If you need the very latest information, wait a bit or pull to refresh once youâre online.
