Assigning Resources to a Service on a Job

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to assign labor, equipment, and material resources to a service within Arborgold using the Proposal Builder. Follow each section step by step to build your proposal efficiently and accurately.

Start by opening the Proposal Builder and adding a service to your proposal.

Step 1: Open the Proposal Builder in Arborgold. Make sure you've already added at least one service.

Step 2: Navigate to the far right of your service. Look for the downward-facing carrot icon and click it.

Arborgold offers both horizontal and vertical views in the Proposal Builder. Choose the one that fits your workflow.

Step 3: After clicking the carrot icon, you'll see two view options: horizontal (default) and vertical. The horizontal view displays three tabs—employees, equipment, and material.

To access the vertical view, scroll to the right and click the three dots (snowman dots).

Step 4: Select the Vertical View option from the menu.

Now, you'll see that employees, equipment, and material are all shown on one page, making it easier to manage all resources at once.

With your preferred view active, it's time to add employees, equipment, and material to your service.

Step 5: Add your first employee to the service. Select from available employees, then confirm your choice.

Step 6: Add the necessary equipment in the same way. Choose the required items from the list.

Step 7: Add the required material for the service. Select materials and specify the quantities.

Once resources are assigned, set costs and add profit markups as needed.

Step 8: Enter flat or unit costs for your resources. If you'd like to add a markup or profit, fill in the field on the right for each resource.

1. Can I edit resources after assigning them? Yes, you can edit the resources you've assigned at any time. Open the relevant service or work order, revisit the resource section, and make your changes. Save your updates to apply the changes.

2. How do I duplicate resource assignments to another service? To duplicate resource assignments, select the original service, choose the duplicate or copy option, and assign the copied resources to the new service. Always review the copied assignments for accuracy before saving.

3. What if an employee or equipment item doesn’t appear in the list? If an employee or equipment item is missing from the list, verify that it's active and available in your company's settings. If needed, add or reactivate the resource, then assign it to the service.
