*** Specifically, this is in reference of how to add in your Terms and Conditions if you want your template to be batch printable, though this is one of the most efficient ways of doing it for non-batch templates as well.
When you open up a report, you will notice the items within the bands. These are what pull the information onto your templates from the job, customer and job site pages. This information is defined by the dictionary entry within the item.
While the readily available dictionary items for proposals, work orders and invoices can usually be found on the template already, some data requires us to hand enter it in a text item. This is especially true with terms and conditions, as everyone has their own. To add in something like that, you’d need to have it written out on a text document (I would recommend notepad) that does not populate the data with styling tags, and you’d need to have a place for it in your template.
To create this new space for your terms and conditions- and to keep the template batchable (as in ProposalFusion and InvoiceBatch templates)- we will want to start with creating new orange bands. You will want to do so by going to the left hand side of the report designer, to the second icon going down (this will look like two blue bands overlapping), called Bands. When you click on the Bands option, it will bring up a list of available bands for you to choose from, in this case, we need the Group Header and Footer. When you choose the band type, you will want to go to the white space area and click and drag a box into it.
Specifically, because we need the template to continue to batch print, we need the GroupHeaderBand to be the middle orange band, and to have no conditional, and the GroupFooterBand to be at the bottom.
Once you have created your GroupFooterBand, and have moved it to the correct location, you will want to go over to the far right of the report designer, under Properties, in section 1. Page and Column Breaks. Here you will want to set New Page Before and New Page After to true.
After you have your bands in place and they are set up with the proper settings, you can create your text item. To do this, you will first want to create a text box to define its location and size. To do this, you will want to go to the left hand side of the report designer, to the thirteenth icon going down (this will look like a piece of paper with writing on it), called Text. After you click on the Text option you will want to go back to the bottom GroupFooterBand and click and drag a text box into it.
When you release the box, the Expression Editor will pop up, allowing you to add in your Terms and Conditions. You can either type in your Terms and Conditions by hand or, if you have it typed into a text editor without styling tags, you can paste it in.
Once your terms and conditions have been added to your template, you can stretch the text box to the size you need, and place a green image box over it. This will prevent the text from breaking over multiple pages as long as it is no longer than 11 inches. To do this, you will want to go to the far left hand side of your report designer, down to the fourteenth option down; called Image (this will look like a portrait with a mountain and a sun). To add the image to your text item, you will want to click on the Image option, and then click and drag an image field over your terms and conditions.
When you’ve done that, you’ll want to be sure that the image is set to Can Break false, and does not have an image URL.
